What is your role and what do you specialize in?
I am a Business Development Specialist for IL and IN for Vision Control & Automation. My primary focus is with ABB Drives, ABB Controls, and Rittal Enclosures while I also support many other lines.
How did you become interested in Engineering?
I’ve always enjoyed working with people to find solutions for their needs and I found the engineering field was a great fit.
What attracted you to this industry?
I just fell into the industry when I was young looking for a way to support my family. I’ve been in the industry ever since.
What traits do you have that help you succeed in your role?
I really enjoy helping people succeed and I work to give the best customer service available. I’ve learned to listen to what others need so I can further help them.
When you’re working with clients, how do you help them identify and solve the problems that they’re facing?
I listen to what the customer is wanting to do and gather the facts needed for the specific project. I’ve learned to include my application engineers into finding the best solution.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned while working for the Standard Electric family of companies?
That we are not alone in wanting to support our customers the best possible, the whole company has that desire. It truly is a team effort to support our customers.
What kinds of things do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy seeing my kids and my first grandchild as much as possible. Enjoy traveling with my wife, working out at home or the gym and biking when the weather is nice.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I got married just after my 21st birthday and we are going on 33 years this year.
